Miniature Wargaming Clubs

Historic wargaming clubs are organizations that specialize in playing tabletop war games focused on historical periods, battles, and conflicts. These clubs often provide a community of like minded individuals who enjoy recreating historical warfare on the gaming table. Below are listed various wargaming clubs through out the world. There are many more wargaming clubs in existence some large and some small.

US Historic Wargaming Clubs

Historical Miniature Gaming Society (HMGS): As mentioned earlier, HMGS is a national organization that promotes historical war gaming. They host conventions, such as Historicon and Fall In!, where players can engage in a wide variety of historical wargames.

The Napoleonic Wargame Club (NWGC): NWGC is dedicated to war gaming the Napoleonic era. They provide a forum for players to share their experiences, showcase their miniature armies, and discuss rules and scenarios for Napoleonic war games.

Society of Ancients: Is a British-based organization but has a significant presence in the United States. They focus on ancient and medieval wargaming, with members participating in campaigns, tournaments, and publishing articles on historical war gaming.

Great Lakes Games Club: Based in Michigan,the club has a strong historical war gaming contingent. They regularly play historical wargames covering a wide range of periods and provide a supportive environment for players to engage in these games.

UK Historic Wargaming Clubs

Oxford Wargames Society: OWS meets every week. It is a friendly, welcoming club where you can find a wide range of games played.

The South London Warlords: Based in London, the South London Warlords is one of the oldest war gaming clubs in the UK. They meet regularly to play a variety of wargames, including historical, fantasy, and science fiction genres.

Leeds War games Club: Located in Leeds, West Yorkshire, this club welcomes wargaming enthusiasts of all levels. They offer a range of gaming tables and provide opportunities to play historical and fantasy war games.

Falkirk District War games Club: Situated in Falkirk, Scotland, this club focuses on historical wargaming. They have regular meetings where members can engage in tabletop battles covering various periods of history.

Colchester Wargame Club: Located in Colchester, Essex, this club is open to all war gaming enthusiasts. They have dedicated gaming nights and events where members can participate in historical wargames and other tabletop gaming systems.

Plymouth Association of Wargamers: Based in Plymouth, Devon, this club offers opportunities for war gamers of all ages and interests. They have regular meetings, host tournaments, and provide a venue for various historical and fantasy war gaming activities.

Canadian Wargaming Clubs

Toronto Area Gamers (TAG): TAG is a gaming club located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario. While not exclusively focused on war gaming, they have a strong wargaming contingent and organize regular gaming sessions and events.

Central and South American Wargaming Clubs

Brazil:

Clube Gaúcho de Wargames (CGW): CGW is a wargaming club located in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul. They provide a space for players to meet, play games, and participate in tournaments and campaigns.

European Wargaming Clubs

The Society of Twentieth Century Wargamers (SOTCW): SOTCW is a UK-based war gaming society that focuses on conflicts from the 20th century. Although primarily based in the UK, they have members from various European countries and regularly hold events and publish content for historical wargaming enthusiasts.

Hamburg Tactica: Is an annual wargaming convention held in Hamburg, Germany. It attracts wargaming enthusiasts from across Europe and features a variety of historical and tabletop war games.

Australia and New Zealand Wargaming Clubs

Australia:

Southern Cross Wargames Club: Based in Melbourne, it is one of the oldest wargaming clubs in Australia. They cater to various tabletop wargames, including historical, fantasy, and science fiction genres.

Canberra Games Society: Located in Canberra, this gaming society offers a range of gaming activities, including wargaming. They have regular meetings and events where members can play historical and other tabletop wargames.

The Napoleonic Association: This association focuses on wargaming the Napoleonic era and is based in Sydney. They organize events, campaigns, and tournaments for enthusiasts of this historical period.

New Zealand:

Wellington Warlords: Based in Wellington, the Warlords club hosts regular gaming sessions and events, catering to a variety of wargaming genres, including historical, fantasy, and science fiction.

Auckland Wargaming Club: Located in Auckland, this club provides a platform for wargamers to meet and play various tabletop wargames. They have dedicated gaming nights and organize tournaments and campaigns.

Christchurch Wargaming Club: This club in Christchurch offers opportunities for wargaming enthusiasts to gather and play a wide range of tabletop wargames, including historical settings.

Asian Wargaming Clubs

Singapore:

Gamersaurus Rex: Is a gaming club in Singapore that caters to various tabletop games, including wargaming. They provide a friendly environment for players to meet, play games, and participate in tournaments.
